Second League - First league loss for Hamburg SV

The Second League footballers of Hamburger SV suffered their first loss in the fifth preparatory game for the new season against the English Second League team Cardiff City in Austria. The match ended with a 0:3 (0:0) defeat. The goals for the Welsh were scored by Ollie Tanner (48th minute), Isaak Davies (70th), and Callum Robinson (90th).

On Saturday, the Hanseaten won a test over 120 minutes against the French First League team FC Nantes. The HSV managed to turn a 0:2-half-time deficit into a 4:2 success.

On Thursday (14.00 hours), the next test is scheduled. Then it goes against Aris Limassol from Cyprus. On 2. August (20.30 hours/Sky and Sat.1), the Hamburgers open the new season of the 2. Bundesliga with their guest appearance at 1. FC Cologne.

In contrast to their successful performance against FC Nantes, Hamburg's Second Bundesliga squad experienced a loss in a preparation game against Cardiff City, a team from the English Second League. The Hanseaten faced a 0:3 defeat in Austria, with goals from Ollie Tanner, Isaak Davies, and Callum Robinson. Following this setback, Hamburg will face Aris Limassol from Cyprus in another preparation game on the scheduled Thursday. As the new season of the 2. Bundesliga begins, Hamburg City will make their guest appearance at 1. FC Cologne on August 2.
