A 19-year-old resident of a nursing home in Lübben (Landkreis Dahme-Spreewald) is suspected of setting a fire in the building. According to the police, a fire broke out in a bathroom in the inclusive living house for mentally disturbed people on Thursday evening. The fire department was able to quickly extinguish the fire and prevent the spread of flames to other rooms.
Three residents were injured and taken to a clinic - among them was the 19-year-old suspect, who suffered from carbon monoxide poisoning. The police, based on ongoing investigations, suspect a premeditated serious arson. The suspect was arrested. The police could not make any statements regarding the extent of the damage caused, but the building could still be inhabited.
