A fire on an industrial estate in Wales has triggered a rescue operation. On Wednesday evening, the police spoke of a serious incident in the town of Pontypridd in the Treforest district. They later gave the all-clear. "There are no reports of serious injuries", South Wales Police announced that night. However, one person is missing.

According to the fire department, an explosion had been reported. A building was on fire and threatened to collapse. Smoke and flames could be seen, the British news agency PA reported. Hospitals in the region were initially on alert. Roads were closed, as the police announced on the short message service X (formerly Twitter). They also warned that it was illegal to fly drones over the area without permission.
