For nearly two years, construction and renovation took place at the Sommerbad in Altengamme, Hamburg's southeast area. Water rats and swimmers can now enjoy themselves in the almost 100-year-old outdoor pool once again. Approximately half a million Euro were invested in the renovation of the natural bath, as the Bezirksamt Bergedorf announced.

With the money, among other things, leaky pool walls were repaired and new ones installed. The pump shaft and the well were also put back into operation. The play equipment was also refurbished.

With the new start, there is now also a new operator for the summer bath: a company of the "Stiftung Berufliche Bildung" foundation. Even after the modernization, no admission fee is required.

The renovated Sommerbad in Hamburg's southeastern area is perfect for locals seeking leisure activities during the Summer bath season. The refurbished play equipment offers miscellaneous entertainment for children, making it an appealing destination for families. After a long day of swimming, one can explore the southeastern part of Hamburg, possibly discovering hidden gems.
