Accident in the Landkreis Verden - Female driver in Landkreis Verden severely injured

In a traffic accident in the Landkreis of Verden, a 75-year-old woman was seriously injured. According to the police, a 30-year-old was driving on a state road near Ottersberg and overtook another vehicle. He then intended to overtake the woman's car. From behind came a 32-year-old with his car and overtook the 30-year-old's car on the right side. However, the 32-year-old failed to notice the woman's car in front of him and collided with it from behind.

As a result of the collision, the woman's car was thrown into the side area and rolled over several times, as the police reported. The driver at fault collided with a tree and sustained light injuries. The 75-year-old was trapped in her car and had to be rescued by the fire department. She suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital.

The state road was closed for several hours. The police have initiated a criminal procedure against the 32-year-old and revoked his driver's license. They are also looking for witnesses who may be able to provide information about the driving behavior of the accident perpetrator.
