salary round - Fees agreement in Bavarian hospitality industry
After long and hard wage negotiations, the Bavarian Hotel- and Gasstation Association and the labor union NGG have reached an agreement. From August 1st, tariff employees in Bavaria will receive more money, as both parties confirm.
The wage increases accordingly by 4.9%, starting from August 1st, 2025, by another 4.5%, and from August 1st, 2025, by 4.9%. The agreement is valid until the end of August 2026. In addition, there is a one-time payment of 400 Euro - according to the NGG, this is the tax-exempt inflation adjustment premium. Trainees also receive the premium. Their remuneration increases by 100 Euro in the first step, and by 30 Euro in each of the following steps.
"Pushed to the limit of what is hopefully achievable"
"In a time when our employees are also financially under pressure, we have reached the limit of what is hopefully achievable," says the President of DEHOGA Bavaria, Angela Inselkammer. "This agreement takes into account the very difficult balance between increased wages and economic feasibility."
Mustafa Öz, the negotiator for the NGG, explains: "It were long and hard negotiations, but we are satisfied." In particular, he is pleased that from August 1st, 2025, the wage demanded by the NGG for the skilled entry wage of 3000 Euro will be exceeded.
The Hospitality industry in Munich, being a significant part of Bayern's economy, has been positively impacted by the recent Tariff Agreement between the Bavarian Hotel- and Gasstation Association and the NGG. The Hotel and Restaurant Association in Bavaria worked diligently in the tariff negotiation process to ensure fair compensation for their employees. This Tariff Agreement includes incremental wage increases for tariff employees and trainees, with the skilled entry wage surpassing the NGG's demand from August 1st, 2025. The Hotel and Restaurant Association in Bayern, led by President Angela Inselkammer, commends the NGG for their collaborative efforts in achieving this balance between employee welfare and economic feasibility.
