Concern about ZDF presenter - Fainting spell on "heute journal": Gundula Gause has to cancel broadcast
A night-time scare at ZDF's "heute journal": presenter Gundula Gause had to cancel her appearance on the news program prematurely on Monday evening for health reasons. Main presenter Dunja Hayali then finished the live program alone.
Gause was reading out a report on the Gaza war when she had difficulty articulating. Her voice suddenly began to falter and her words became indistinct and slurred. For the rest of the program, Gause was no longer in the picture. Many viewers then took to social media to express their concerns about the 58-year-old's state of health.

Concern about TV presenter Gundula Gause
Colleague Hayali explained her absence at the end of the show with a dizzy spell: "The fact that I had to finish the show alone is because Gundula just got a bit dizzy. It can happen, but the all-clear: she's feeling better again."
There is no further information about the interruption so far. Gause is a veteran of "heute journal" and has been co-presenter of the ZDF news program since 1993.
