Tesla - Factory and forest camps near Tesla-Works affected by bomb find

From the planned explosion of a World War II bomb at the Tesla Work, both the factory and the forest camp set up by Tesla opponents are affected. The exclusion zone with a radius of one kilometer surrounds the forest camp and parts of the factory grounds, said Nico Bauermeister, head of the order office of the community Grünheide, to the German Press Agency. The woodland occupiers were already asked to leave their camp in the morning. The explosion is scheduled for Wednesday.

"Currently, we do not expect production to be affected," said a Tesla spokesperson. Only a small part of the factory grounds is affected by the exclusion zone. This mainly concerns a logistics area and a waste treatment plant, the spokesperson said. "Production buildings are not affected by the exclusion zone." The previous explosion a few weeks ago had taken place on a weekend when production was already at a standstill.

Affected by the exclusion zone in this case are also the state roads 23 and 38, which are scheduled to be closed from Wednesday morning, said Bauermeister. The railway station Fangschleuse is also closed from 7 a.m. Buses do not pass through the railway station.

The 250 kilogram World War II bomb was discovered approximately one week ago on the planned expansion site. The bomb cannot be transported and must be exploded on site, according to the community's statements.

  1. The discovery of a World War Bomb in the proposed expansion area of the Tesla Factory has led to an emergency situation, requiring the evacuation of the forest camp set up by Tesla opponents.
  2. The German Press Agency reported that the explosion of the World War II bomb, originally planned for the Tesla Work, will now impact both the factory and the forest camp, due to the location of the bomb.
  3. According to the Order Office in Green Heath, several companies located near the Tesla Factory, including a logistics area and a waste treatment plant, will be affected by the exclusion zone due to the bomb find.
  4. Brandenburg authorities have closed state roads 23 and 38, as well as the railway station Fangschleuse, due to the impending explosion, which will impact the delivery of goods and services to Tesla Factory and other companies in the area.
  5. The German Press Agency also reported that the explosion of the World War II bomb, scheduled for Wednesday, will not affect Tesla's production buildings, but may impact the transportation of materials and products to and from the factory due to the closure of roads and the railway station.
