Experts from the Munitions Clearance Service have disarmed a landmine from World War II in Kiel. The work went smoothly, reported the police in the short message service X. Subsequently, the temporary road closures around the site should be lifted.

The 250-kilogram American bomb was discovered on a Tuesday in a small garden area. For the work on the landmine, up to 1,000 people had to temporarily leave their houses and apartments in the late afternoon. Affected by the operation were the district Wellingdorf and a small part in the Schwentinental district's Klausdorf.
