Excavator catches fire on station bridge in Cottbus
An excavator caught fire on the station bridge in Cottbus on Thursday afternoon. The driver was not injured in the fire, according to the city. The vehicle belonged to the fleet of Cottbus' own company for green spaces and parks. The bridge was temporarily closed for the extinguishing measures and streetcar services were also interrupted, it was reported. The police are investigating.
The fire on the excavator could have potentially escalated into a larger emergency if not promptly addressed. Luckily, emergency services were able to extinguish the fires on the excavator and prevent any further damage or incidents related to fires.
