Approximately every 8 minutes, the police in Saxony-Anhalt record a traffic accident. According to the Statistical Office, there were 69,325 traffic accidents in the past year. The number of traffic accidents during the Corona pandemic had decreased significantly to around 65,600 incidents. However, the numbers are still lower than before the pandemic. In 2019, for example, there were more than 75,000 traffic accidents according to the statistics office. Numbers were similarly high in the previous years. According to the Landesamt, accidents involving cyclists, which were recorded by the police, occurred approximately every four hours.

The police in Saxony-Anhalt documentation shows a traffic accident roughly every 8 minutes, on average. The Regional Office's Statistics reveal a notable decrease in traffic accidents during the Corona pandemic, with approximately 65,600 incidents, a significant drop from the 75,000 recorded accidents in 2019. Despite the decrease, the police report that accidents involving cyclists occur approximately every four hours in Saxony-Anhalt.
