Italy - Etna spews lava again
Europe's largest active volcano, Mount Etna, has once again attracted attention with an eruption of lava. According to the Italian Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) in Catania, the fountain rose up to 6000 meters above sea level on Friday evening and lit up the night sky in eastern Sicily.
At 9.35 pm, Mount Etna had calmed down again. A shower of ash was reported from three villages. The volcano on the Mediterranean island is around 3350 meters high. It is always active, most recently in mid-November.
