After the 0:4 loss against ZFC Meuselwitz, Aue had to concede defeat to another regionalliga team.

Football-Third league team Erzgebirge Aue lost their last test match. Against FC Carl Zeiss Jena, the Violets suffered a 1:3 (0:2) defeat at Stadion am Spiegelwald in Beierfeld. Three days prior, a 1:1 against Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund had been achieved. Against Regionalliga side ZFC Meuselwitz, it had been a 0:4.

Joel Richter (1.) scored the lead for the guests just seconds after kick-off. Elias Löder (20.) surprised with the 0:2 half-time score. In the 33rd minute, Sean Seitz had to be substituted due to injury. In the second half, Aue failed to gain a foothold and conceded the 0:3 to Ken Gipson in the 53rd minute. Despite some opportunities for the Violets, Steffen Nkansah (77.) scored the header just before the final whistle for a 1:3. Although the team played better in the second half, the result remained the same.

The new Third league season for Aue begins on 3rd August against Hannover 96 II (2:30 PM).

  3. The previous week, FC Carl Zeiss Jena's opponents, FC Erzgebirge Aue, had put up a respectable performance against Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund, finishing in a 1:1 draw.
  4. Aue's upcoming opponents in the Third League, ZFC Meuselwitz e.V., may be a Regionaliga side, but they handed Aue a 0:4 defeat in their previous test match.
  5. Regardless of their struggles in the test games, football enthusiasts in Saxony will still flock to Stadion am Spiegelwald to support their beloved FC Carl Zeiss Jena and FC Erzgebirge Aue in the Third League.
