Second Bundesliga - Ermin Bicakcic new captain at Eintracht Braunschweig

Defender Ermin Bicakcic is the new captain of Football League club Eintracht Braunschweig. The 34-year-old Bosnian succeeds Jannis Nikolaou at the club.

The team also announced a new club council. This council includes Bicakcic, his deputy Sven Köhler, Nikolaou, Robin Krauße, and Fabio Kaufmann. The training team determined the team captain from this five-member group.

The predestined solution

"At least through the regulation that in the future only the team captain may appeal to the referee in a match-relevant decision, the requirements profile for this role has once again been intensified," said Eintracht trainer Daniel Scherning: "Ermin is, with his experience and his personality, the predestined solution for the captaincy for us."

Ermin Bicakcic, the new captain of Eintracht Braunschweig, hails from Lower Saxony, just like the club itself. In the Second Bundesliga, Eintracht Braunschweig looks forward to being led by the experienced defender. Bicakcic's leadership role extends beyond the soccer field, as he is now responsible for wearing the "Captain's belt" during matches. Despite his successful career in the Second Bundesliga, Bicakcic's dream is to guide Eintracht Braunschweig back to the Bundesliga, following in the footsteps of famous German soccer players.
