Migration - Enlightenment on the expulsion of a Moroccan required

After the deportation of a Moroccan man despite a contrary court ruling, the Greens and the Left in the state parliament are demanding clarification from the Saxon Interior Ministry.

Minister Armin Schuster (CDU) is expected to provide an explanation from the department head, "how it came about and what measures were taken to ensure that the implementation of court decisions by the administration is always secure," the legal political spokesperson for the Greens, Valentin Lippmann, announced. In a parliamentary question, he requested detailed information about the incident.

Juliane Nagel, migration political spokesperson for the Left, also demanded information and consequences. "I am deeply shocked. Saxon authorities are questioning and obstructing the implementation of court decisions knowingly and willingly," Nagel declared.

According to the Refugee Council, a Moroccan man was deported on July 11, despite the Administrative Court of Chemnitz having decided in an emergency ruling that the deportation must be suspended. The Saxon authorities did not pass on the court ruling to the Federal Police, who therefore continued the deportation.

The State Directorate stated on Thursday in response to an inquiry that it had learned of the court ruling during the ongoing deportation. The department was not involved in the legal proceedings. In the short time available, a decision was made to stop the ongoing return. The matter is being internally evaluated, and the possibility is also being considered that the Moroccan man may be allowed to temporarily re-enter.
