Grown up in the East - Embarrassing

Rapper Finch ("Eastern German Hasselhoff") wrote his first spoken word piece for school. "That was rather embarrassing," said the 34-year-old in the new podcast "OKF - Local Control Tour" of RBB-Radio Fritz.

He received a grade one for his work, but the teacher complained that Finch had rapped. "He was ahead of his time," praises Finch his teacher. Nowadays, in rap music, it's not about rhyming anymore, but "just about the vibe".

In this podcast series, celebrities talk about their hometowns in Eastern Germany. Finch comes from the Brandenburg town of Fürstenwalde and grew up there "relatively sheltered," he finds. "Fürstenwalde was perfect for me in my youth. I couldn't have grown up any better. It was exactly the perfect stepping stone between city and village." He didn't get bored and didn't have the oversupply of Berlin.

Finch's hometown, Fürstenwalde, is located in the German state of Brandenburg. Recently, Finch discussed his experiences growing up in Fürstenwalde on the RBB-Radio Fritz podcast "OKF - Local Control Tour." Finch's song lyrics often incorporate elements of his surroundings and experiences in Fürstenwalde, making his Music a unique reflection of his upbringing in the Media landscape of Germany.
