At a recycling yard in the south of Neumünster, fires have been burning since early morning hours. A spokesperson for the police reported that electronic scrap in the outdoor area of the yard had caught fire.

The fire department is still engaged in extinguishing efforts in the afternoon. Residents were advised precautionarily to close their windows and doors due to smoke contamination. The cause of the fire is still unknown.

Early in the morning, several reports had reached the police about a smell of burnt plastic or gas in Neumünster. However, this was all related to the fire. Several streets around the fire scene were closed for firefighting efforts. There were no injured.

The fire at the recycling yard in Neumünster is being handled by the fire department, who started their erasure work in the morning hours. The electronic scrap in the outdoor area of the recycling center in Schleswig-Holstein is believed to be the source of the fire, leading to the smoke contamination in the surrounding area. The local authorities, including the police, are actively monitoring the situation.
