Football-Bundesliga - Eintracht-Sport director Hardung: America an important market
Soccer team Eintracht Frankfurt emphasized the significance of the North American tour. "I believe America is simply a very, very important sports market and an emerging soccer market - not least considering the WM 2026, which will take place here and also in Mexico, among other places," said Frankfurt's sporting director Timmo Harding.
Eintracht departed for their overseas training camp on Monday and will remain there until August 3rd to prepare for the upcoming Bundesliga season. Matches will take place on Thursday (local time) against Mexican club FC Juárez and on July 30th (local time) against Louisville City.
"Of course, there are challenges, but a Bundesliga season in Europe involves many challenges as well," Harding said about the tour. One must take proper precautions during the time zone change from Frankfurt to America, he emphasized. It's also important to acclimate properly to the first few days after arrival, Harding added.
