Eight people were injured in a traffic accident on the B239 in Hoxter-Fuhrstenau, five of them severely. A mother was taken to a hospital with her two three and four-year-old children, one of whom was classified as severely injured, by helicopter ambulance, according to a police spokeswoman.
The mother, who was also traveling with her 16-year-old niece, failed to notice an oncoming vehicle while making a left turn for unknown reasons. The collision caused one of the vehicles to be propelled into a waiting car.
The other injured individuals were the occupants of the cars. They were taken to the hospital in an ambulance.
The traffic accident occurred on the B239 in Höxter-Fuhrstenau, which is located in North Rhine-Westphalia. The mother, who was driving, failed to notice an oncoming vehicle while making a left turn, leading to a collision. Automatic emergency response systems were activated due to the traffic accident, dispatching multiple emergency vehicles to the scene.
