A Grey Goose in Sankt Goar (Rhein-Hunsrück-District) was presumably shot with a crossbow. The bolt had pierced the left wing of the bird, as the police reported. The water police were informed about the injured goose on a Wednesday and understood that the wildlife help had caught the animal at the riverbank and taken it to a veterinary clinic. Now the police are investigating for a violation of animal protection law and are looking for witnesses.

In Rhineland-Palatinate, a region known for the Rhine, the police are vigilant against levels of Criminality that may involve animal cruelty, such as the recent incident involving a Grey Goose in Sankt Goar. Despite efforts from wildlife help, the goose was found injured near the riverbank.
