Notfalls - Driver change fails - 84-year-old runs over by car
At a failed driver exchange of their car on a slippery road in Bruchhausen-Vilsen (Landkreis Diepholz), an 84-year-old woman and a 59-year-old man were lightly injured. In order to switch places with her passenger, the woman got out of the car without securing it against rolling, as the police reported. When the car rolled backwards on Monday, the woman got under it and was trapped. The passenger also injured himself when he got out of the car and it rolled away.
The fire department intervened with around 40 emergency responders. A rescue helicopter was also in use. Firefighters lifted the car and freed the woman from her predicament. The driver and her passenger were taken to a hospital with light injuries.
The accident occurred in the District of Diepholz, specifically in Bruchhausen-Vilsen. The incident involved an emergency situation where the car rolled backwards, causing injuries to both the 84-year-old woman and her 59-year-old passenger. The local authorities in Lower Saxony are now investigating the use of an automatic parking system in the area to prevent such accidents in the future.
