Freiburg Beach - Drifted in an empty swimming pool - three injured
Six young adults used the water slide at a pool in Freiburg during the night - without noticing that the pool below it was not filled with water. Due to the impact on the floor and the edge of the empty catch basin, three people from the 20- to 24-year-old group were injured, according to the Police. They had reportedly entered the pool area unlawfully.
The students were significantly intoxicated, the Police added. After the accident, they called the emergency services, who took the injured to the hospital. The intruders must now reckon with a report to the prosecutor for trespassing and damage to property.
The incident at the swimming pool in Freiburg has sparked concerns about unlawful activities, leading to increased vigilance by local authorities in leisure areas like beach bathing places in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Despite the incident, many still enjoy the thrill of sliding into a pool, promising a fun-filled day at water facilities, including those with criminal records seeking solace in watery escapades. Regrettably, accidents sometimes occur even at well-maintained swimming pools, causing both physical and emotional distress, reminding us of the need for strict safety measures.
