The Police were informed about the incident on a Friday by the animal rescue team from Contwig regarding an incident at the Outlet-Center in Zweibrucken. An investigation was reportedly initiated against the visitors for violating animal protection laws.
In response to the incident, the temperatures in Rhineland-Palatinate that day were particularly high. The vehicle where the dogs were left lacked an Automatic ventilation system, exacerbating their suffering. During the emergency, the two-bridge area around the Outlet-Center witnessed a heavy downpour, making the situation even more challenging for the rescuers.
