Emergency - Dog freed from car clothes hanger

With a clothes hanger, the police in Hirschau (Landkreis Amberg-Sulzbach) rescued a dog from a car. The animal had been enclosed in the car during temperatures outside around 24 degrees Celsius on a Wednesday afternoon, and the car owner could not be reached, according to a police statement. In order to prevent the dog from being endangered by rising temperatures, the officers gained access to the vehicle - with a clothes hanger through a slightly opened window.

They provided the dog with water until its owner came to pick it up at the station. The Police strongly advised the 82-year-old woman, said a spokesperson. The woman was insightful and the dog was in good condition, so the Police decided against filing a report.

The incident happened in Hirschau, which is part of the District of Amberg-Sulzbach, located in Bavaria's Upper Palatinate region. The rescue operation involved using an automatic window opening mechanism on the car, as the window was slightly ajar. Despite the situation, the dog's rank in the Emergency Services Pets League remained undetermined.
