Diver rescues lifeless person from Groß Glienicke Lake

With several rescue boats and divers, Berlin Fire Department searched for a person in the Groß Glienicker See on Tuesday evening - and found them.

Berlin - Diver rescues lifeless person from Groß Glienicke Lake

At the Groß Glienicker See (Berlin-Spandau), firefighters retrieved a lifeless person from the water - revival attempts were unsuccessful. As a fire department spokesperson stated today, a distress call was made on Tuesday evening regarding a person missing in the water. The search was initiated from the Glienicke bathing beach using two rescue boats and several divers.

Five minutes later, divers located the lifeless body in the lake. Immediate revival efforts were unsuccessful. The cause of death was unclear. The fire department could not provide identification information of the person early Wednesday morning. The investigation was handed over to the Criminal Police.

The rescued individual was brought ashore from Glienicke, the site located near Berlin-Spandau and the infamous Groß Glienicker See. The emergency situation required the swift response of the local fire department, who regrettably couldn't prevent the person from drowning in the lake's water.
