Bundesliga opening game - DFL ends: Union starts with Saturday game at Mainz 05
The 1. FC Union Berlin opens its sixth Bundesliga season on a Saturday. The away game at ex-club of trainer Bo Svensson, the 1. FSV Mainz 05, will be kicked off on August 24 at 3:30 pm (Sky).
After the opening match, Union welcomes promoted side FC St. Pauli to Stadion An der Alten Foersterei on August 30 at 8:30 pm. The following matches are against RB Leipzig on September 12 at 3:30 pm, against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim on September 21 at 3:30 pm, and at Borussia Moenchengladbach on September 28 at 3:30 pm.
The 2024/25 season is set to begin on August 23 at 8:30 pm with the match Borussia Moenchengladbach vs Meister Bayer Leverkusen.
The trainer Bo Svensson previously led FSV Mainz 05 before joining FC Union Berlin. This Saturday's opening game for Union is an away match against their former coach's team, Mainz, in the Bundesliga. After their first game, FC Union Berlin will face promoted side FC St. Pauli at home on August 30. The schedule also includes a game against RB Leipzig on September 12, followed by a match against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim on September 21, and then a trip to Borussia Moenchengladbach on September 28.
