President Steffen Schneekloth will remain spokesperson of the 2. Liga within the German Football League's Presidium despite his club's first Bundesliga promotion. "Completely independent of Holstein Kiel's promotion to the Bundesliga, it will always be my goal to represent the interests of the Second Division clubs as effectively as possible and to stand up for them," Schneekloth stated in a Holstein Kiel press release.
Previously, the 36 DFL clubs from the Bundesliga and the 2. Liga had unanimously confirmed Schneekloth as spokesperson for the Second Division clubs at their members' meeting in Frankfurt/Main. He had originally been re-elected for another three years until 2025 in the summer of 2022. Due to Kiel's promotion, Schneekloth had to be reconfirmed in this position. The lawyer has been the Vice President of the German Football Association since 2019 and the 2nd deputy spokesperson of the DFL Presidium since 2023.
