Theft accusation against a classmate - Defense in the murder trial of a youth expected

The judgment against a 15-year-old German teenager, who shot a classmate in the underfrankish town of Lohr am Main last September, is getting closer. Today (9:00 am) the trial continues at the Würzburg Regional Court. After further testimony in the morning, the prosecution's plea is expected in the afternoon. The co-plaintiff might also plead. The defense plea is not yet due.

The 15-year-old German allegedly shot a 14-year-old Italian with a single bullet from a pistol on the school grounds. He confessed to the fatal shot at the start of the main hearing. However, it was not an intentional shot. The trial is not open to the public.

The maximum sentence for murder for a juvenile is ten years. The weapon, a 9mm pistol of the Ceska CZ 75 type, belonged to a 66-year-old who lived in the same house as the defendant.

  1. Following the confession, the Public Prosecutor's Office in Bavaria is pursuing a severe process against the teenager for the Tode-shooting of his classmate.
  2. Given the seriousness of the Criminality, the case has attracted attention beyond the borders of Germany, with Italy expressing interest in the outcome of the Murder Trial.
  3. After the conclusion of the court proceedings in Würzburg, there is a possibility for an Appeal to be filed, potentially in an Italian court.
  4. The victim's family, along with the children who witnessed the tragic incident in Lohr am Main, are closely following the developments in the court process.
  5. The weapon used in the incident was a Ceska CZ 75 model 9mm pistol, which was illegally possessed by an elderly resident living in the same house as the defendant.
  6. Despite the opposition from the Public Prosecutor's Office, the defense will likely argue for leniency, considering the teenager's age and the lack of intent at the time of the Tode-shooting.
