Test game - Defeat for Hertha in test matches
Hertha BSC recovered from their first loss in the 2. Bundesliga preparation with a draw against Huddersfield Town in Austria. The Berliners lost 1:2 (1:1) to Huddersfield initially, but drew 1:1 (1:0) against the Welsh team from Cardiff City.
Linus Gechter put Hertha in the lead in St. Johann in Tyrol after just eight minutes with a header from Marc Oliver Kempf's cross. Callum Robinson scored the flattering equalizer for the Welsh team in the 89th minute from the chaos. Hertha, with many potential starting players for the league opener, dominated the game and hardly let anything through in defense. The equalizer came as a complete surprise.
