45-year-old man shot dead - Death on the balcony: violent crime in Stuttgart puzzles police
A suspected murder in Stuttgart is keeping investigators busy. A 45-year-old man was found dead on his balcony on Wednesday evening. Residents had previously reported gunshots to the police, as the news agency DPA learned from security sources. Special forces then stormed an apartment and arrested the suspected perpetrator - a 42-year-old man. He is suspected of having shot the 45-year-old, the police said.
Not the victim of a gang feud?
What is behind the crime is still completely unclear. According to the investigators, they are not currently assuming that the man's death has anything to do with the feud between two rival groups in the Stuttgart area that has been raging for months. For many months, there have been repeated acts of violence, including repeated shootings. According to the State Office of Criminal Investigation, dozens of men have been arrested in this connection so far.
According to security circles, the suspected murder in the Rot district was actually the result of a neighborhood dispute. The suspect's apartment is not far from the victim's apartment, according to security sources. The Stuttgart police press office could not be reached for further details on Thursday morning.
Police search with helicopter
The police also used a police helicopter in the search for the suspected perpetrator. According to the police, the suspect was eventually arrested without resistance.

The act of violence on the victim seems to stem from a local dispute, as the suspected perpetrator and the victim reside in close proximity in the Rot district. Despite the ongoing series of violent crimes in Stuttgart, including repeated shootings, investigators are currently not linking the 45-year-old man's death to any gang feuds in the area.
