CSD thug may be deported

In 2022, a trans man is beaten up at the CSD in Münster and dies shortly afterwards. The perpetrator is sentenced to five years in prison. A court also issues a deportation order against the Russian. He appeals against this - unsuccessfully.

The man convicted of a fatal attack at Christopher Street Day in Münster may be deported. This was decided by the Münster Administrative Court, according to a press release. The court rejected an urgent appeal by the Russian from Chechnya against a deportation order issued by the city of Münster. The decision is not yet legally binding.

In March, the Münster Regional Court sentenced the young man to five years' juvenile detention for assault resulting in death and placement in a detention center. The court considered it proven that the accused had punched a 25-year-old trans man twice in the head at CSD 2022. Malte C. hit his head on the asphalt and died as a result of traumatic brain injury.

The city of Münster expelled the convicted man from the Federal Republic of Germany in a decision dated October 13, ordered him to leave the country, threatened him with deportation to Russia and issued him with a five-year entry and residence ban. The administrative court rejected the man's urgent appeal against the decision. He had not been in possession of a residence permit since 13 May and was therefore obliged to leave the country since then. The threat of deportation was lawful.
