The Amtsgericht Meldorf (Dithmarschen District Court) has sentenced five juvenile members of a gang to Youth Sentences for a series of crimes around Heider Bahnhofsvorplatz. The sentences ranged from one year and six months to two years and three months, according to a court spokesperson. Two of the sentences have already taken effect.

Additionally, the District Court ordered compensation totaling 1,920 Euro in favor of the victims. The trial, which began in early June, was held in closed session by the court.

Various Crimes

Four juveniles aged 14 to 17 and one adult (18 years or older) appeared before the court, according to earlier statements by the Prosecutor's Office. They were charged with serious extortion, robbery, and grievous bodily harm. The Prosecutor's Office did not provide further details on the charges due to the age of the defendants.

In March, the Prosecutor's Office initiated investigations against all four suspects. All four suspects were in custody at the time. The group is believed to have committed various crimes at the Bahnhofsvorplatz in Heide with varying personnel composition.

Heide in Focus

Heide has had issues with juvenile crime in the past. The Dithmarschen district city made headlines last year due to a disturbing incident. Several girls aged approximately 13 to 16 are alleged to have beaten and humiliated a 13-year-old girl. The acts were reportedly filmed on a smartphone.

  1. The Public Prosecutor's Office in the Dithmarschen District, responsible for investigating criminality, initiated an investigation against the juvenile members of the gang in March.
  2. The District Court in Meldorf, located in Schleswig-Holstein, handled the process for the punishment of the youths involved in the series of crimes around Heider Bahnhofsvorplatz.
  3. The adults from the Prosecutor's Office presented evidence to the District Court during the trial, which argued for the appropriate youth punishment for each defendant based on their role in the crimes.
  4. Following the court proceedings, the District Court in Meldorf issued Youth Sentences for each of the five individuals, ranging from one year and six months to two years and three months.
  5. The trial, which took place in a closed session, also resulted in an order from the District Court for the group to pay compensation totaling 1,920 Euro to the victims of their crimes.
