Criminality - Contractors pursued and stabbed - Arrest Warrant
After an argument at a betting office in Heidelberg, a 29-year-old was seriously injured with several stabs. A warrant for his arrest was issued against a 33-year-old suspect on Sunday due to the pressing suspicion of attempted murder, as police and prosecutors announced. He is in pre-trial detention. According to the investigators, he had the intention of causing fatal injuries.
The 29-year-old attempted to flee after the argument in the Kurfürsten-Anlage on Saturday. The 33-year-old is said to have caught up with him and stabbed him multiple times with an unknown stabbing weapon. The seriously injured man then dragged himself into the train station hall and collapsed there.
"Undeterred, the suspect, who continued to pursue him, continued his attack," the statement continued. He allegedly stabbed his opponent multiple times in the torso and tried to kick him in the head. Despite his injuries, the 29-year-old defended himself, and the suspect eventually fled, as the statement further stated.
The 33-year-old was arrested near the crime scene, and the 29-year-old was taken to a hospital. His condition is reportedly stable, according to the statement. The current investigations by the prosecution and criminal police are ongoing.
The 33-year-old was brought before a judge on Sunday and a warrant for his arrest was issued.
