Strike Waves - City-Bahn: GDL-Strike ends - bus traffic continues
The German Locomotive Drivers' Union (GDL), according to City-Bahn's statements, has called for a strike stop from Sunday night to Monday. The GDL informed the traffic company's management about this late on Sunday evening, City-Bahn reported. The strike was supposed to end on Monday morning at 2:00 AM, GDL itself had not made an official announcement about it yet.
"With such a short lead time, it will not be possible for City-Bahn to roll out all trains as scheduled at Monday morning's start-up," a spokesperson for the company stated. Bus shuttle service will continue due to the announced strike waves. Passengers were urged by City-Bahn to continue using these services first.
"However, all City-Bahn trains will come into operation on Monday, but these connections cannot be reliably displayed in the information systems at first," it was further stated. Regular service is expected only around Monday midday.
City-Bahn GDL
The 'strike wave' initiated by the German Locomotive Drivers' Union (GDL) extends to the railways in Saxony, affecting services in cities like Chemnitz. The GDL's decision to call for a strike from Sunday night to Monday was communicated to City-Bahn late on Sunday evening. Even with the strike scheduled to end on Monday morning at 2:00 AM, Tariffs seem to be the main cause of the 'strike' action, as the GDL has not officially announced its reason yet.
