Beach Volleyball - Christoph Dieckmann will be the Beach National Trainer
After twelve years as Swiss National trainer, Christoph Dieckmann will take care of German Beach-Volleyball players as Chief-National trainer starting from September 1st. The German Volleyball Association (DVV) announced this. The association had been trying to get hold of the native Bonn resident for a longer time. "Christoph is one of the top three trainers in the world", said DVV-Sports director Jaromir Zachrich.
Before his trainer career, Dieckmann himself was a successful player. In 2004, he finished 5th at the Olympics with Andreas Scheuerpflug. In 2006, he won the European Championship title with the 2012 Olympic champion Julius Brink. He also became German champion four times. Since 2012, Dieckmann has been active in Switzerland and led the teams to the top. Most recently, he was responsible for Nina Brunner/Tanja Hüberli and Esmée Böbner/Zoé Vergé-Dépre. Both duos qualified for the Olympics in Paris.
Dieckmann's success in Switzerland earned him recognition, as both Nina Brunner/Tanja Hüberli and Esmée Böbner/Zoé Vergé-Depre qualified for the Olympic Games in Paris. Christoph Dieckmann, the newly appointed German Beach-Volleyball chief national trainer, has a strong connection with the Olympics, having finished 5th with Andreas Scheuerpflug in Germany's colors in 2004. Dieckmann's coaching journey took him to Frankfurt am Main, where he was instrumental in shaping German volleyball before his move to Switzerland.
