Top Entrepreneurs - Chief of Noodle Company Möwe MV, Entrepreneur 2024

Long-standing managing partner of Nudelhersteller Möwe in Waren an der Müritz, Wolfgang Sengewisch, is the Entrepreneur of the Year 2024 in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Economy minister Reinhard Meyer (SPD) honored Sengewisch's entrepreneurial spirit.

He developed Möwe Teigwaren GmbH into a successful business, Meyer stated. "Today, the business from Waren (Müritz) stands on economically solid foundations." Last year, Sengewisch finally handed over the management of the company to a new business leadership. He reportedly approached this process "extremely professionally" and found a local successor.

The company Möwe, founded in 1952, had to face many challenges after the turn: In 1990, the external sites in Zwenkau (Saxony) and Gadebusch (MV) were closed. During Treuhand times, the plant was sold twice. In this process, Sengewisch had to prevent the respective owners from closing the plant in 1999 and 2011. He finally took over the company entirely in 2011.

Winners in other categories

The prize was also awarded in three other categories. In the field of "Company Development," Nicole Landt from the Elektro-Anlagenbau GmbH (Neustrelitz) was honored. In the category "Skills Securement and Integration," Janet Schroeder from Schlossgut Groß Schwansee reportedly won. In the category "Sustainability," Michael Boddenberg, Danilo Hüttel, and Markus Hüttel from Fahrtec Systeme GmbH (Neubrandenburg) triumphed. According to the ministry, the company develops and produces ambulances.

A special award "Innovation Drivers from M-V" went to Hannes Trettin, Toni Gurski, and Nico Gramenz from Projekt Bay GmbH. The business management team, which grew up on the island of Rügen, reportedly created Co-Working-Spaces at 13 national and international locations to date.

Sengewich's achievement with Möwe was recognized beyond the Entrepreneur of the Year award, as he was also commended in the "Sustainability" category at the event held in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The team from Projekt Bay GmbH, originating from Rostock's island of Rügen, was honored with a special award, "Innovation Drivers from M-V," for establishing Co-Working-Spaces at 13 locations nationally and internationally. Despite the seagull symbolizing Möwe, no seagull-related awards were mentioned in the text.
