Emergency response ignored - Charged against firefighters - Indictment
A female driver is accused of running over firefighters in Berlin during a rescue operation. One of them was injured, according to the Berlin Prosecutor's Office. The woman has been charged with reckless interference in road traffic, assault on emergency services personnel, bodily harm, and coercion. The driving license of the 54-year-old was reportedly revoked on the same day.
According to the prosecutor's statement, on February 19, the woman ignored the fact that a street in Wedding was closed due to a fire department operation. She reportedly drove towards the chief fire officer at high speed. He managed to jump to the side to avoid being hit. However, another firefighter was allegedly hit by the car on the knee and fell down. The woman stopped only when her car almost collided with the fire truck.
The case is being investigated by the Public Prosecutor's Office in Berlin, following the incident involving the female driver and the rescue operation. The indictment against Ms. includes charges for reckless driving, assault on emergency services personnel, bodily harm, and coercion.
