Changeable and rainy weather in Germany

The weather in Germany will remain changeable and rainy at the start of the new week. "It is also quite mild, so the white surprise in the Alps and in some low mountain ranges will soon be history again," said the German Weather Service (DWD) in Offenbach on Sunday.

On Monday, it will be dry in the north-east at first, but rainy elsewhere. In western and central Germany, showers are also expected from the evening onwards. In the south-western half of the country, it will be somewhat milder with temperatures between 11 and 17 degrees. However, according to the meteorologists, a fresh south-westerly wind with gale-force gusts is to be expected here. A weak to moderate wind from the southeast is also expected in the north and east of the country.

Tuesday will continue with variable cloud cover and showers. According to the forecast, brief thunderstorms are also possible. In the Alps and on the edge of the Alps, the rain will be so heavy that a lot of water will be added. A DWD meteorologist said on Sunday that rising river levels were to be expected on the southern German rivers, but that the levels on the Rhine were also expected to rise slowly. Maximum temperatures will range from 6 degrees in Western Pomerania to 15 degrees on the Upper Rhine. According to the DWD, it will remain windy in the west and southwest, with local gusts of wind possible in the north and center.

According to the DWD, the trend will continue on Wednesday. It will be very cloudy with isolated showers. Temperatures are expected to reach a maximum of 8 to 14 degrees. Moderate winds are to be expected from a predominantly westerly direction, with strong gusts of wind possible at times.

The changeable and rainy weather predicted by the German Weather Service is set to continue throughout the new week, with showers expected in various regions. According to the meteorologists, the forecast suggests brief thunderstorms and heavy rain in the Alps and on its edges, leading to rising river levels.
