Two people were severely injured in an accident near Schleusingen (Landkreis Hildburghausen).

Early in the morning, a 61-year-old woman attempted to turn her car from the main road onto the K523 and failed to notice the car of a driver with right-of-way, according to the police. Her car collided with the man's car. The woman was trapped in her vehicle and had to be rescued by the fire department. Both parties involved in the accident were severely injured and taken to a hospital.
