A driver crashed into a tree with his car in Rhauderfehn, in the Leer district, and died. The 25-year-old, according to the police, came off the road from unclear reasons in a right-hand turn, veering the car to the left. The car then collided with the tree.
The driver was reportedly so severely injured in the collision that he died at the scene early in the morning. The road was closed for several hours for cleanup and investigation.
