Football Bundesliga - BVB-Coach Sahin: Whoever doesn't make the basics, doesn't play

Borussia Dortmund's Trainer Nuri Sahin will draw consequences from the 0:4 defeat against Thai League leader BG Pathum United. "Whoever doesn't get the basics right won't play, that's it," said the new BVB coach after the disappointing performance at the start of the Asian tour in Bangkok. He will be very open, honest, and critical about the performance, Sahin announced, and spoke of a heavy defeat.

"I know that the boys are very tired, they have trained a lot, but that can't be an excuse," Sahin added. "Just because they're tired, I can't say that's an excuse." Above all, Sahin was not pleased with the defensive play. He only spared the young players from his criticism.

Next test on Wednesday in Japan

However, he did not want to overrate the disappointing performance. "I know where to put it, that the game was," Sahin said, who had brought on ten new players in the second half on Sunday. The BVB professionals had trained on Saturday evening at 10 p.m. local time with a temperature of still 30 degrees and tropical humidity. Before the game, it had rained heavily, causing the kick-off to be delayed. On this Wednesday, there is another test game against Cerezo Osaka in Japan.

Nuri Sahin, the coach of Borussia Dortmund, will lead the team in their upcoming test game against Cerezo Osaka in Japan. Despite the challenging conditions in Bangkok, including heavy rain and high temperatures, Sahin believes that fatigue cannot be an excuse for the team's performance in the previous Test game against BG Pathum United. Borussia Dortmund, hailing from North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, experienced a disappointing 0:4 defeat in their Asian tour debut. Sahin announced his intention to be open, honest, and critical about the team's performance after the disappointing start. He did, however, spare the young players from his criticism due to their efforts. The Football-Bundesliga team will look to improve upon their performance in the Test game against Cerezo Osaka, a Japanese soccer club.
