Renewable Energy - Businesses invest less in environmental protection
Businesses in Saxony-Anhalt have scaled back their investments in Environmental Protection. According to the Statistical Office, businesses in the manufacturing sector invested around 6.9 percent less in 2022 compared to the previous year. The share of investments from these industries in total investments decreased from 19.8 to 16.4 percent. Out of the 1,850 surveyed companies, around 30 percent reported making investments for environmental protection in 2022. In total, approximately 448 million Euro were invested in the environmental protection of Saxony-Anhalt.
Nationwide, according to information from the Federal Environment Ministry in Berlin, it was around 13.4 billion Euro. Around half of this went into the areas of water and waste management, including facilities for reducing water consumption. Furthermore, investments came from areas such as renewable energies, reduction of greenhouse gases, and efficiency improvements.
