Wedding - Bremen's Governor Bovenschulte married at the beginning of August
Bremen's Mayor Andreas Bovenschulte and his partner Kerstin Kruger are getting married at the beginning of August. The SPD politician and the biologist will give their "I do's" at the Bremen Town Hall on August 9th, as confirmed by a spokesperson of the Senate. After the wedding, the couple will celebrate with their family in the Kaminsaal. Previously, the "Weser-Kurier" had reported on the planned wedding.
The two have known each other since their youth. They attended the Sarstedt Gymnasium in Hildesheim together. Kerstin Kruger was a professor for Integrated Pest Control, lived and worked in South Africa for many years. They met again after more than 35 years, as Bovenschulte revealed in an interview last year.
For the 58-year-old, it is his second marriage. The Mayor and the former Senator Ulrike Hiller separated in 2021. They had been married for over 20 years and have two daughters together.
