Braunschweig wins Test match against Cottbus

Eintracht Braunschweig had a successful weekend. Hansa Rostock was also defeated by Energie Cottbus. Max Marie scored a double pack.

Second Bundesliga - Braunschweig wins Test match against Cottbus

Football-Second league team Eintracht Braunschweig also won the second test match of the weekend against a third division team. Following the 2:1 on Saturday against FC Hansa Rostock, the proteges of coach Daniel Scherning achieved a 3:2 (2:1) over Energie Cottbus.

The 19-year-old Max Marie scored two goals for Lower Saxony. The newcomer, who had come from the second team of FC St. Pauli to Braunschweig, scored the equalizer at 1:1 (6th minute) and the third goal for Eintracht at 3:2 (90th minute).

The final test match will be played by Braunschweig on July 27 at Eintracht-Stadion against Second League relegated VfL Osnabrück. For the league opener, Eintracht will be the guests on August 3 (8:30 pm/Sky and Sport1) at Schalke 04.

  6. Following their test game schedule, Energie Cottbus will be playing in Bundesliga 2 alongside Braunschweig United and Hansa Rostock's rival, Braunschweig United's counterpart in Lower Saxony, Braunschweig United, starting their seasons in the 2023/24 season.
