Brand Foundation - Brand foundation in parking garage - three 14-year-olds arrested
Three 14-year-olds were arrested at an Parking Garage in Erlangen following a fire, according to the police. They are suspected of setting fire to a car with pyrotechnics, causing damage estimated in the tens of thousands of Euros to the affected car, three other cars, and the building.
The fire department was called to the scene on a Wednesday and extinguished the fire. Investigations and witness interviews by the police revealed that the youths had set the car on fire. The initially unknown individuals then fled. Two of the suspects were apprehended in the afternoon. The third 14-year-old turned himself in to the police. They were handed over to their legal guardians and must answer for the suspicion of arson.
The three individuals were from Bayern, speaking Middle Franconian as their native dialect. The fire incident occurred in the Car park of a Brand Foundation in Erlangen. Despite causing significant Criminality, the teens' fascination with Pyrotechnics seemed to have played a role in their actions.
