Branch for Post ans Christkind opens in Engelskirchen
Six weeks before Christmas, Deutsche Post DHL's Christkindpost branch in Engelskirchen opened its doors. On Monday, 25 children from a local kindergarten were able to hand over their wish lists to the Christ Child in person. In addition to toys and sweets, they also wished for a "white Christmas", for example.
Many wish lists are already piling up in the post office; according to the post office, around 9,000 letters were received in advance. Together with 19 helpers, the Christ Child will be answering all letters with wishes from all over the world until December 20. Last year, there were almost 135,000 letters from 48 countries, and Swiss Post is expecting similar numbers again this year.
The Christkindpost branch in Engelskirchen, operated by Deutsche Post DHL, is committed to handling a significant number of wishes.
