Body of missing 18-year-old found - two suspects

An 18-year-old girl from Pasewalk who has been missing for one and a half days has most probably died a violent death. Police discovered the body during a search for the missing woman in a garden, according to the Neubrandenburg police headquarters. Search dogs led investigators to the body. A woman and a man are now suspected of having killed the woman. Her upper body showed signs of massive blunt force trauma.

A 20-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman are suspected of the murder. An arrest warrant has been requested for both of them, it added. They are being investigated for manslaughter. Meanwhile, the investigation and forensics at the site where the bodies were found are continuing. The results of the forensic medical examination are also still pending.

The young woman was reported missing on Wednesday evening. According to media reports, the woman lived in a nearby residential group for people with disabilities and also had a mental disability herself. Since the disappearance, the police had been searching for the 18-year-old in the surrounding area. Investigators then found the woman's body, apparently with the help of sniffer dogs. The police and the Neubrandenburg public prosecutor's office were initially unable to confirm this information on Friday.
