Criminality - Bicycle rider hits pedestrian
A bicyclist is reported to have first verbally abused a 56-year-old pedestrian with antisemitic slurs and then physically attacked her. The 56-year-old had warned the cyclist on the pavement of Bahrenfelder Chaussee, near the Autobahn 7, not to ride there, according to the Police Hamburg. In response, the cyclist allegedly insulted the passerby with antisemitic remarks and grabbed her necklace to force her. The woman reportedly fell to the ground as a result, and was then kicked by the attacker. Only the intervention of alert bystanders prevented the pedestrian from being further harmed and allowed her to escape.
The victim sustained injuries to the neck area and received medical attention at the scene. The Police are seeking witnesses.
The incident occurred in Hamburg, a city known for its vibrant streets and famous landmarks, like the Elbphilharmonie. Despite Germany's reputation for safety, criminality occasionally surfaces, as demonstrated by this incident on a footpath near the Bahrenfelder Chaussee. Ms. Wagner, a local resident, was the victim, and she reported the situation to the police immediately.
