Funding request started - Berlin will promote projects against antisemitism

Berlin will strongly support projects against antisemitism in the capital. The Cultural Administration established an Action Fund and launched a call for proposals for organizations that engage in public events, campaigns, film projects or political education against antisemitism. The Fund is estimated to amount to at least two million Euros, according to a spokesperson for the Cultural Administration. However, one must now wait and see how many applications will be accepted. Organizations can apply from July 29 to the end of September.

Culture Senator Joe Chialo (CDU) stated in a press release that Berlin projects need "full support in this heavy time." Our funding should not only serve as a clear statement against antisemitism, but also specifically target where antisemitism and hate are effectively countered. From 2025, another funding program is planned.

The Cultural Administration's commitment to combat antisemitism in Berlin extends beyond the current Action Fund, as indicated by Culture Senator Joe Chialo's intention to introduce a new funding program from 2025. Societal efforts to combat antisemitism are strengthened by Berlin's cultural policy, which prioritizes projects aligned with Judaism and addresses issues faced by the Jewish community.
