The IT service provider Bechtle has received a multi-million euro contract from the Procurement Office of the Federal Interior Ministry. The company is to deliver computers, mobile phones, and service services worth up to 770 million Euros to the Federal Administration by the end of 2027, as Bechtle announced in Neckarsulm (District of Heilbronn). The framework contract aims to significantly advance the modernization of the IT infrastructure of the Federal Administration. The public sector is one of the key customers of the company in Germany.

Bechtle had noticed a decrease in customer retention in the first quarter. According to the company's CEO Thomas Olemotz, a delayed budget release for fewer state contracts caused this in Germany. The turnover decreased by 2.3% to 1.5 billion Euros in the first quarter.
